He did not hold the manor, or have any estate therein, at his death. Long before his death, he was seised of the manor in demesne as of fee. By charter, sealed with his seal, dated at Halstead, 16 September 1432, he granted it to Thomas Rolf of Gosfield, John Helyon, junior , John Wayte of Braintree, and John Pascall , and their heirs and assigns. In the charter, shown to the jurors, the manor was described as
the manor called ‘Boys’ in Halstead
. They were seised in demesne as of fee and continued their estate peacefully until the death of John Warner , and after his death. Afterwards Thomas Rolf died. The others survived him and were seised in demesne as of fee by right of survivorship, until they were expelled by colour of the inquisition referred to in the writ.
The manor [value not specified] is held of Henry, lord Bourchier , service unknown.

He died on 1 May 1440.

[Head:] Delivered to court on 14 November.
