Holdings
Robert de Reppes and Sibyl his wife were seised of the following in demesne as of fee. By fine in the king’s court [CP 25/1/165/153/472], they granted the manor to Laurence – son of Robert and Sibyl – and Margaret his wife, and the heirs of their bodies, so that they were seised in demesne as of fee by form of the grant. They had issue: Richard Reppes , and died seised of such estate. After their deaths Richard entered the manor as son and heir. He had issue: Alice, named in the writ, and Katherine, and died seised of such estate. After his death Katherine had issue: William Marchall , and died. Alice entered the entire (integrum) manor and died seised without heir of her body.She died on 3 April 1440. William Marchall , kin of Alice as the son of Katherine, her sister, is her next heir by form of the grant, and is aged 56 and more.
The following occupied the manor and received the issues: John Coket from the time of her death until 25 December last; and the above William Marchall from then until the day of this inquisition, for which they are to answer to the king.
