She held no lands or tenements in demesne as of fee. John Fitz Elys and John Gode were, however, lately seised of the following manor and tenement in demesne as of fee and granted them to Edmund Giffard and Alice, then his wife, and the heirs male of the body of Edmund, with successive remainders to John Giffard, knight , and the heirs male of his body; and to the right heirs of John Giffard . Edmund and Alice were thus seised in demesne, viz., Edmund as of fee tail, and Alice as of free tenement, and Edmund died seised of this estate without heir male of his body. Alice afterwards occupied the manor and tenement by virtue of the grant. John Giffard died, and right of remainder descended to John Giffard, esquire , still living, as son and heir male of the body of John Giffard, knight. Alice died seised of her estate, and the manor and tenement belong to John Giffard, esquire, by virtue of the remainder.
