William de Northwell, clerk , was seised of the following in demesne as of fee.
Bathley, one messuage, 100 a. land, and 2 closes, annual value 40s.
Carlton-on-Trent, one messuage and 60 a. land, annual value 26s. 8d.
Norwell, one messuage, 2 tofts, and 30 a. land, annual value 20s.
Of whom they are held is unknown. By a fine levied at York on the quindene of Easter in the twelfth regnal year of Edward,n541 he granted them, among other things, to Henry, son of Richard Grymmynge of Norwell and Elizabeth his wife, and the heirs of their bodies, with successive remainders to Hugh Rylynge of Woodhouse and Alice his wife, and the heirs male of their bodies; to John son of Robert de Holm and Alice his wife, and the heirs male of their bodies; and to Edward, then king of England , and his heirs. Henry and Elizabeth were thus seised by virtue of the fine, and they had issue: Joan, and died. The lands and tenements descended to Joan as their daughter and heir, and she married Robert Touke . They had issue: John, named in the writ, and died.

He died on 17 August 1439 without heir of his body. Hugh Rylynge and Alice died without heir male of their bodies, as did John son of Robert de Holm and Alice his wife.

William Duffeld, clerk , holds and so held on the day of John Touke’s death, the lands and tenements in Bathley and Carlton-on-Trent and he yet takes the issues, title unknown. William Cromwell of Norwell holds and so held on the day of John Touke’s death, the lands and tenements in Norwell, and he yet takes the issues, title unknown.
