He was lately seised of the following tenement in demesne as of fee.

Newton Surmaville, a messuage with curtilage and garden attached, a toft, carucate of land, and 166 a. pasture, annual value 40s., lately of John Holme , held of the king in chief by rent of one cloth (mappe), worth 6s. 8d..
Before Michaelmas 1420, he granted the tenement, described as all his lands and tenements with their rents, services, and reversions in Newton Surmaville , to William Loketon and his heirs and assigns. William was thus seised in demesne as of fee and afterwards, but before 1 November 1420, granted the tenement by his indented charter to John Warmewell and Margery his wife for their lives, without impeachment of waste, with reversion to William Loketon and his heirs. William afterwards granted the reversion to Richard Peny , now deceased, and Alice his wife, still living, daughter of John Warmewell and Margery, and to the heirs of the bodies of Richard and Alice, with successive remainders to Alice and the heirs of her body; to Ralph Bret, esquire , and Agnes his wife, daughter of John Warmewell and Margery, and to the heirs of their bodies; to Agnes and the heirs of her body; and to the right heirs of John Warmewell . The grant was made by indented charter, dated on 3 October 1420 and shown to the jurors; and John Warmewell and Margery attorned to Richard Peny and Alice.

Margery died, and John Warmewell afterwards died on 18 September 1435. Alice and Agnes, his daughters and next heirs, are respectively aged 34 years and 32 years and more.
Ralph Hille took the issues of the tenement from John’s death by virtue of letters patent to him and Walter Porteman , and takes them still [CFR 1430–37, p. 294]. John Warmewell thus held more lands and tenements than specified in the inquisition taken before Thomas Husee .
