Babthorpe, the manor with messuages, etc., in Hemingbrough, Brackenholme and Wodehede [below], held of Thomas, bishop of Durham , as of his manor of Howden as 1/4 knight’s fee. There is a hall, a chapel, 13 high and low chambers, a cellar, a buttery, a pantry, cook-house, a house for baking and brewing, 2 barns, 2 stables, a cattle-shed, a vaccary, a pig-sty and 2 gardens, worth nothing yearly; 140 a. land, each acre worth 3d. yearly; 100 a. pasture, each acre worth 2d. yearly; and 7 a. wood, each acre worth 2d. yearly.
Hemingbrough, 2 messuages, each worth 20d. yearly, a cottage, worth 12d. yearly, and 100 a. land, each acre worth 3d. yearly, held as above.
Brackenholme, 2 messuages, each worth 20d. yearly, 120 a. land, each acre worth 3d. yearly, and 6 a. meadow, each acre worth 8d. yearly, held as above.
Wodehede, 30 a. land, each acre worth 3d. yearly, held as above.
He held the following in demesne as of fee tail by grant of Roger Ayrmyn , viz., to him and the heirs of his body.
North Cave, a messuage, worth 12d. yearly, 10 bovates of land, each worth 4s. yearly, a fulling-mill, worth nothing because ruinous, and 2s. annual rent from a cottage and a croft now held freely by John Derlyng , payable as above, held of the master of the hospital of St Leonard ’s, York , service unknown.
Middleton on the Wolds (Midelton), a messuage, worth 20d. yearly, 7 tofts, each worth 4d. yearly, 10 bovates of land, each worth 4s. yearly, and 17s. annual rent from 2 bovates of land formerly held by William Kylwardeby , payable as above, held of the provost of the collegiate church of St John , Beverley , service unknown.
Hunsley, a toft, worth nothing yearly, and 2 bovates of land, each worth 20d. yearly, held of the prior of Durham as of his manor of Hemingbrough, service unknown.

He died on 22 August last. Ralph Babthorp , his son and next heir of his body, is aged 38 years and more.
