Holdings
She held no lands or tenements in demesne or in service of the king or others. She was once seised of the following in demesne as of fee tail to her and the heirs of her body, by grant of Godfrey Gifford, late bishop of Worcester . With her husband Richard Avenell she granted the same – described as all her lands, tenements, rents, and services with reversions and appurtenances in Bullingham or Lower Bullingham and Clehonger – to John Jonettes and Elizabeth his wife and the heirs begotten between them, with reversion to Richard and Maud and the heirs of Maud, as is more fully contained in the charter. By virtue of this grant John and Elizabeth were seised at Maud’s death, and still are seised, in demesne as of fee tail. The charter, dated at Tarrington, 19 July 1423, was shown to the jurors.
She died on 29 June last. Her kin and next heirs are: Richard Beauchamp , son of Alice, daughter of Katherine, sister of Maud, aged 30 and more; Elizabeth, wife of John Jonettes , another daughter of Katherine, sister of Maud, aged 40 and more.
[Head:] Delivered to Chancery on 10 November 1444.
