He held the following in demesne as of fee tail.

Thanington, the manor, held of the archbishopric of Canterbury, then vacant because of the death of Henry, late archbishop , as 1/12 knight’s fee. In the manor there is a site, worth nothing yearly; 200 a. arable, worth 100s. yearly, each acre worth 6d. yearly; 60 a. pasture, worth 20s. yearly, each acre worth 4d. yearly; 20 a. meadow, worth 33s. 4d. yearly, each acre worth 20d. yearly; 20 a. wood worth 6s. 8d. yearly, each acre worth 4d. yearly; a fishery for fish called ‘creveys de wedouse’, worth nothing yearly; £7 3s. 3¾d. assize rent, received from various tenants at Michaelmas and Easter; annual rent of 11 cocks, each worth 3d.; annual rent of 51 hens, each worth 2d.; 26 harvest and winter works, each worth 2d. yearly; and a court baron held every three weeks, worth nothing yearly beyond the steward’s fee. The manor is therefore worth £15 18s. 10¾d. yearly.
He also held the following [estate not specified].
Hoath, a dwelling (mansio) in the borough (burgh), with a barn built over it; and
Reculver, 50 a. land in the parish,
annual value 53s. 4d., held of the same archbishopric by paying 8s. 6¼d. rent to the archbishop of Canterbury . Because of the minority of his son and the vacancy of the archbishopric all the above should be in the king’s hands.

He died on 2 May last. Thomas Halle is his son and next heir, aged 4 and more.

[Head:]

Delivered to court on 16 November 1443.
