William Brocas, esquire , Gilbert Banbury , Bernard Brocas, esquire , and Robert Dyneley demised the following to Thomas Romsey and Joan his wife, and the heirs of their bodies, by charter dated at Basingstoke on 20 July 1415, shown to the jurors. The lands and tenements were described as all their lands and tenements, meadows, pastures, woods, rents, and services that they then had in East Dean, Hyde, Romsey Horseys, and Marchwood.

East Dean, one messuage, worth 10s. yearly; and 20 a. land, each acre worth 6d. yearly, held of Stephen Popham, chevalier , service unknown.
Hyde, Romsey Horseys, and Marchwood, one messuage, worth 10s. yearly; 60 a. land, each acre worth 6d. yearly; 20 a. meadow, each acre worth 12d. yearly; 10 a. wood, worth nothing yearly because there is no underwood that can be sold; and £8 rent and rent of 12 quarters of salt, payable at Easter and Michaelmas equally, held of the abbess of Romsey , service unknown. The salt is worth 30s. above costs, according to the common course.
She held the following in dower by assignment of ‪ Henry V from the inheritance of Joan, wife of Thomas Payn, daughter of Thomas Romsey.
Vernham Dean, a third of 1/2 manor, held of the king in chief by knight service. In the third, there are 20 a. arable, each acre worth 6d. yearly; 2 a. meadow, each acre worth 12d. yearly; 20 a. pasture and fallow, each acre worth 3d. yearly; 13 a. wood, worth nothing yearly because there is no underwood that can be sold; and 17s. rent from free and villein tenants, payable at Michaelmas, Christmas, Easter, and Midsummer, equally.

She died on 31 August last. Joan, wife of Thomas Payn, is her daughter and next heir, and aged 22 and more.
