JOAN WHO WAS WIFE OF GUY CORBET

Regarding lands and tenements held of the king in chief for life from the inheritance of Robert son and heir of Guy.

Holdings
She held no lands or tenements of the king in chief. John Ereswell and Thomas Isaak were seised in demesne as of fee of the following manor, land, meadow, wood, and rent, and granted them to Guy Corbet and Joan then his wife, and the heirs of the body of Guy, with remainder to the right heirs of Guy. Guy and Joan were thus seised, viz., Guy in demesne as of fee tail, and Joan in demesne as of free tenement. Guy afterwards died, and Joan held the manor etc. in survivorship by virtue of the grant, and continued in her estate for life. She held them from the inheritance of Robert Corbet , son and heir of Guy, with reversion to Robert after her death.

Little Cornard and Bures, 80 a. land, 5 a. meadow, 2 a. wood, 52s. 1 1/2d. rent.
They are held of the king as of his honour of Hatfield Peverel as 1/2 knight’s fee and by service of rendering 6s. 8d. yearly at Michaelmas for all services and demands. True annual value, 100s.
She died on 8 September last. Robert is aged 22 years and more.
