There is the manorial site, worth nothing yearly; 4 messuages and 52 bovates, each messuage with a quarter of the 52 bovates [i.e. 13 bovates] worth 6s. 8d. yearly; and 6 cottages with small gardens, each worth 20d. yearly.

He died on 21 August 1438. John Ingilby , his son and next heir, was aged 4 years on 7 July 1438.

He held more lands and tenements than specified in the inquisition returned to Chancery.
They are parcel of his manor in Chadwell, called ‘Ingilbyes’, that he held in demesne as of fee, viz., 12s. 3d. free and quit-rent from various tenants, taken yearly at Easter and Michaelmas equally, as shown by the rental there; and a messuage called ‘Tholmodys’, various tofts called ‘Hampstedes’, and 40 a. land and marsh, worth 8s. 4d. yearly. The land and marsh, specified in the first inquisition [154], as well as the rent, tofts, land, and marsh, specified here, comprise the manor called ‘Ingilbyes’ in Chadwell, held of Humphrey, earl of Stafford , son and heir of Lady Anne, late countess of Stafford , as of his manor of Fobbing, by service, as specified in the first inquisition, of rendering a sparrow-hawk yearly at the feast of St Peter in Chains.

Thomas Screne of Great Leighs, ‘gentilman’, has taken all the issues of the land, rent, tofts, messuage, and marsh from the time of William’s death until now, title and manner unknown.

He held no more lands or tenements in demesne or service of the king, or any other, because, by his charter dated on 1 May 1430, shown to the jurors, in which he is described as William Ingilby, lord of Ripley , he granted the manors of Ripley and Hutton Wandesley, advowsons of the churches of the same vills, and all their lands, tenements, rents, reversions, and services in Ripley, Hutton Wandesley, Angram, Knapton, York, Hessay, Little Cattal, and Long Marston, to William Plumpton, knight , Guy Rouclyff , Richard Ingilby, rector of Ripley , and William Touton, chaplain , and their heirs and assigns. They were thus seised in demesne as of fee. By another charter dated at Manfield on 9 July 1436, shown to the jurors, in which he is described as William Ingilby, esquire , he granted all lands and tenements, meadows, rents and services in the vills and territories of Stockton on the Forest, Knapton, Coniston, Hawkswick, Ripon, Kirkby Malzeard, Laverton, Exelby, Theakston, Brompton on Swale, Manfield, Barton, Yarm, Kirk Leavington , East Harlsey, West Harlsey, Amotherby, and Colton, except the 3 bovates above that are held of the king in chief, to Brian de Stapylton, knight , described as Brian de Stapylton, esquire , Thomas Horme, clerk , William Touton, chaplain , and Henry Notyngham , ‘yoman’, and their heirs and assigns. They were thus seised in demesne as of fee.

Date of death as 153 John Ingilby , his son and next heir, was aged 4 years and more on 21 August 1438.
