Holdings

Owing to the death of Thomas Mersshton and the minor age of William Mersshton , his brother and heir, the following came to the hand of ‪ Henry IV and is yet in the king’s hand.

Little Sutton, a messuage and 1/2 virgate of land, annual value 3s. 4d., held of the king by petty serjeanty and rendering 5s. silver yearly to the king at Lady Day and Michaelmas equally.

He died on 6 February 1437. Maud, wife of William Aleyn , and Joan, wife of John Smalbache , are his sisters and next heirs. Maud is aged 55 years and more, and Joan is aged 50 years and more.
