Addressed to Thomas Daukynson , Hugh Hulse , and Roger Strangeweys . Inquire after the lands which Nicholas son and heir of Robert is understood to have held as of the king’s principality of Wales, and which ought to belong to the king because Nicholas died without heir [CPR 1429–1436, p. 131]. By writ of privy seal.

He granted the following to Gilbert Halsall and Katherine his wife, and to the heirs of their bodies, with reversion to the right heirs of Nicholas, to hold of the king and his heirs, the princes of Wales, by due service. The grant was made by charter and with royal licence.

Gilbert and Katherine died without heir of their bodies and the reversion should come to the hands of the king because Nicholas died without heir on 31 January 1426.
William ap Gruff and John Hope have occupied the manors etc. and taken the issues since Gilbert’s death on 14 March 1429, but to what value and by what title is unknown.
