It was found by inquisition in 1421 that William Hankeford, knight , Henry Fuleford , John Gambon, junior , and John Dabernon were lately seised in demesne as of fee of the lands and tenements specified in 459. These they granted to John Kirkham and Isabel his wife, and to the heirs of John in perpetuity. John Kirkham died so seised and Isabel continued in her estate for life, holding by knight service of the bishop of Exeter ; at her death, the temporalities of the then sede vacante bishopric were in the hands of Henry V. The lands and tenements reverted to William brother of John Kirkham, a minor who is now deceased. He died seised in demesne as of fee and the lands and tenements descended to Robert brother and next heir of William, a minor, still living and in the wardship of the king. Robert is aged 20 years, 25 weeks, and 6 days.
