As detailed in the writ, the inquisition held before Thomas Grey of Wark, chevalier , and others by commission of ‪Henry IV and returned to his Chancery [CIPM XIX, no. 938], found that Elizabeth held

1/3 of 1/2 manor of Lowick, amongst other things, in her demesne as of fee of the king in chief by service of 1/6 knight’s fee; that she died on 23 June 1410; and that Henry de Fenwyk , son and heir of Alan de Fenwyk, chevalier , deceased son and heir of John and Elizabeth, was the kinsman and heir of John and Elizabeth and was aged 7 years and more at the time of that inquisition.
Henry provided the king with the intelligence that his father held a holding in Fowberry and Coldmartin at his death, and details of his marriage. Alan de Fenwyk, chevalier , deceased, father of Henry de Fenwyk , held
his holding in Fowberry and Coldmartin of a messuage, a cottage, a husbandland and 1/7 demesne lands called ‘les demayns’ in Fowberry, and a messuage, a cottage, a husbandland and 1/3 demesne lands similarly called in Caldmartin, in his demesne as of fee at the time of his death on 8 May 1406, of William de Folbery , named in the writ, by knight service,
and no lands or tenements in his demesne as of fee of the king by knight service. Immediately after Alan’s death, William de Folbery was seised of the tenements and body of Henry as the minor son and heir of Alan, by reason of custody, and was seised during Elizabeth’s lifetime. William sold Henry’s marriage to Margaret widow of Alan de Fenwyk ; she granted the marriage to William Legh, chevalier ; and he married Henry to Joan his daughter, during Elizabeth’s lifetime.
