By their charter, shown to the jurors, they granted the above, described as the whole of their meadow called ‘Prestedemed’ containing 2 a. meadow, or more or less as it lies in that vill, to Robert de Teye , John, Andrew, William, John and John, and Thomas Marny and William Hanyngfeld , and their heirs and assigns. The 2 a. meadow are held of Richard Baynard , services unknown, each acre worth 2s. yearly.
He held a messuage, 52 a. land, 4 a. meadow, 4 a. pasture and 2s. 4d. rents of service in Great Birch, Little Birch and Easthorpe, jointly with the same John Howard , by enfeoffment of John Goodwyne of Easthorpe. By his charter, shown to the jurors, he granted the above to Robert de Teye and John and William Marny, William Hanyngfeld , Robert Newport and John Beste, clerk , deceased, and their heirs and assigns. The messuage, etc. are held of Richard Baynard , services unknown. The messuage is worth 12d. yearly, each of the 52 a. land 3d. yearly, each of the 4 a. meadow 16d. yearly, and each of the 4 a. pasture 6d. yearly. He held no other lands or tenements of the king in chief in demesne or service or of others. Described as Robert de Teye , son and heir of Robert de Teye, knight , of Essex, and by his charter dated at Marks Tey, 10 April 1401 and shown to the jurors, he granted and by the charter confirmed the following, amongst other things, to Lady Joan de Boohoun , late countess of Hereford , described as Lady Joan de Boun , countess of Hereford , William Marny, knight , William Hanyngfeld , Robert Newport , John Costantyn and John Beste, vicar of St Peter’s church, Colchester , deceased, and John Howard, knight , who survives, their heirs and assigns. They were seised of the manors, lands and tenements contained in the charter, in their demesne as of fee and John Howard is still. Described as above and by his deed dated at Marks Tey, 23 June 1401, enrolled in ‪Henry IV’s Chancery July 1401, and shown to the jurors, reciting the manner in which the late countess, John Howard , William Marny , William Hanyngfeld , Robert Newton , John Costantyn and John Beste had and held amongst other things, the said manors, lands, tenements and advowson of St Runwald's church specified in the last charter, to themselves, their heirs and assigns in fee simple or other specified status by his enfeoffment, by peaceable seisin delivered to them by him, and the manner by which the countess etc. were in full and peaceable possession of the same by virtue of the charter and his delivery of seisin, he remised, released and quitclaimed for himself and his heirs all right and claim in these to the countess, etc. and, by this deed, bound himself and his heirs to warrant the manors, etc. to the countess, etc., their heirs and assigns.
Colchester, 4 a. land, described as lying next to the wall of the hospital of Holy Cross within the liberty of Colchester, and the advowson of St Runwald’s church situated in the middle of Colchester market, held of John Kneuet by fealty only, each acre worth 6d. yearly, the advowson nothing.
Marks Tey, Copford, Great Birch, Parva Stanway and Easthorpe, a carucate, which makes up the tenement called Palmer’s, held of Queen Katherine , services unknown. The carucate contains 104 a. land, each acre worth 4d. yearly.
Aldham, the whole of his manor, held of John earl of Oxford , a minor in the king’s wardship, services unknown. In the manor there are a messuage, worth nothing yearly; 240 a. land, each acre worth 3d. yearly; 8 a. meadow, each acre worth 2s. yearly; 14 a. pasture, each acre worth 6d. yearly; 12 a. substantial timber, worth nothing yearly; 24s. rents of rents of service; and a court baron held once a year at the manorial lord’s liberty, worth 20d. yearly.
Aldham, Fordham and Marks Tey, a toft, 16 a. land, 2 a. meadow, 4 a. pasture and 4s. rents, which make up the tenement called ‘Hogekynes’, held of the same John earl of Oxford , services unknown. The toft is worth nothing yearly, each acre of land 3d. yearly, each acre of meadow 20d. yearly, and each acre of pasture 6d. yearly.
Easthorpe, Feering and Marks Tey, a messuage, 80 a. land and 4 a. meadow, described as having come to him by inheritance after the death of John de Teye , his uncle, held of Richard Baynard by fealty only. The messuage is worth nothing yearly, each acre of land 3d. yearly and each acre of meadow 20d. yearly.
Stanway and Marks Tey, 50 a. land and 3 a. meadow, described as all his lands, tenements, rents and services in these vills, formerly those of Edmund de Teye , his uncle, held of John Kneuet , services unknown. Each acre of land is worth 4d. yearly and each acre of meadow 2s. yearly.
Messing and Tolleshunt, 100 a. land, which make up the tenement called ‘Marteles’, held of the abbot of Westminster , services unknown, each acre worth 3d. yearly.
Bockingham Hall, the manor, held of the abbot of St John’s, Colchester, services unknown. In the manor there are a messuage, worth nothing yearly; 160 a. land, each acre worth 3d. yearly; 4 a. meadow, each acre worth 2s. yearly; and 7s. rents of service.
Great Birch, Little Birch, Copford, Easthorpe and Stanway, 120 a. land and 4 a. meadow, which make up 2 tenements, one called ‘Salyng’ and the other ‘Kyng’, held of the bishop of London , services unknown. Each acre of land is worth 4d. yearly and each acre of meadow 20d. yearly.
Stanway, a messuage and 30 a. land, which make up the tenement called ‘Moreses’, held of the same earl of Oxford , services unknown. The messuage is worth 12d. yearly and each acre of land 3d. yearly.
Great Birch, 4 a. land, described as all the other lands and tenements in the vills specified in the charter which he had or held the day the charter was made, held of the prior of St Botulph’s, Colchester , by fealty only, each acre worth 4d. yearly.
Ardleigh, 3 a. land, described as all the other lands and tenements in the vills specified in the charter which he had or held the day the charter was made, held of the same Richard duke of York , a minor in the king’s wardship, services unknown, each acre worth 3d. yearly.
Described as Robert de Teye, esquire , in Essex, by his charter dated at Layer de la Haye, 28 March 1421, and shown to the jurors, he granted and by this charter confirmed, the whole of his manor of Layer de la Haye together with a wood called Chest Wood belonging to the manor, to John Howard , Andrew Boteler , knights, William Loueney , William Clopton , William Tendryng , John Sumpter and John Ewelle , esquires, who survive, and Thomas Marny, knight , and William Hanyngfeld , now deceased, and their heirs and assigns. They were seised in their demesne as of fee and the survivors remain so. The manor is held of the king in chief of the honour of Boulogne by service of 1/2 knight’s fee. Whether or not royal licence was obtained, presently unknown. In the manor there are a messuage, worth nothing yearly; 400 a. land, each acre worth 3d. yearly; 10 a. meadow, each acre worth 20d. yearly; 40 a. coppice-wood of which 4 a. may be felled seasonably each year and each acre worth 4s. at the time of its sale; 4 marks rents of service at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions; view of frankpledge held the Monday of the octave after Easter, worth 2s. after the steward’s fee and expenses; and a court baron held every three weeks, worth 4s. yearly after the steward’s fee and expenses.

He died on 13 September last. John his son is his next heir, aged 19 years and more.
