Holdings

He held in his demesne as of fee a toft, 100 a. land, 3 a. meadow and 20 a. wood in West Hoathly, called ‘Shreveslond’, of William Philipp, knight , and Joan his wife of their manor of Plumpton, service unknown. The toft is worth nothing yearly; each of the 100a. land 4d. yearly; each acre of meadow 4d. yearly and no more because not mown for a long time; and the wood nothing yearly.

He died on 12 September 1420. John his son is his next heir, aged 15 years and more. [The Surrey inquisition ordered in the writ is not extant.]

William Bardolf, chevalier , now deceased, occupied from the time of John’s death until 25 July 1424, and took the issues, title unknown. Reginald Cobeham, chevalier , and William Philipp, chevalier , occupied from 25 July 1424 until the day of this inquisition and took the issues, title unknown.
