Regarding lands in king’s hands owing to the death of William Ryngebourne and the minority of William his son and heir. Next friends of William the son to be warned. Includes reference to a fine paid for king’s pardon to Agnes and John Holcombe for marrying without licence [CCR 1422–9, p.298].

In the presence of John Hampton and John Clement , next friends of William the son. John Holcombe and Agnes his wife, widow of William Ryngebourne, esquire , were assigned the following as her

dower from the manor of Barton Stacey. A chamber called ‘Presteschamber’, a stable on the east of this chamber and a gatehouse with 2 chambers on the north of this gate; another gate between these 2 chambers and the ‘Presteschamber’; a croft containing 5 a. land in the north of the manor; 1/3 garden, namely from the corner of the oven beyond the garden, as far as the common field, and 1/3 croft called ‘Lady croft’ in the north as is clear in the metes and bounds; meadows called ‘Bradenythe’ and ‘Hamelefforest’; 6 a. arable at ‘Breche’ next to the land of William Wayte , and 8 a. arable at ‘Sheppark’; 5 a. arable in the north of ‘Ronfeldspathe’ and 6 a. arable at ‘Danput’ on the west of William Wayte ’s land; 4 a. arable and an adjacent headland (voracre) arable at ‘Smalbrygge’ by ‘Pykhode’; 6 a. arable at ‘Glovelond’ next to William Wayte ’s land; 6 a. fallow below ‘Brokholes’ and 10 a. fallow leading towards ‘Ykenellyngwey’ by ‘Potdowne’; 6 a. arable by the gate of the manor; 4 a. arable at ‘Conynger’ and 1 a. arable called ‘Smocacre’ by ‘Bolyndenesdowne’; 7 a. arable at ‘Syngynglond’ next to the land of John Clement and William Wayte , and 2 a. arable leading towards a headland of the same John Clement at ‘Loneden’; 12 a. arable below ‘Haydonnes’; 6 a. arable below ‘Cokeham’ next to the land called ‘Mastalles’; 1/3 of 1/2 of ‘Stywardesham’ in the west; 300 a. pasture in ‘Bertonesdowne’; 1/3 of 1/2 of ‘Lytelham’; 100 a. several pasture in ‘Cowdowne’; 40 a. pasture in ‘Westmore’; 1/3 profits of 2 views of frankpledge and courts held throughout the year; 1/3 profits of a dovecot; 1/3 several waters; and annual rents of service – 12s. 6d. from a messuage and 2 virgates which the prior of Mottisfont holds, 17s. 4d. from tenements which Richard Inkepenne , Ralph Wayte and Ralph Ganlaker hold severally, 12s. 4d. from lands which Richard Py...cher and Cristia his wife hold, and from lands and tenements held respectively by John Clement 12s., William Perour 7s., John Hanyton 8s. 4d., William Spencer 3s. 4d., John Scrent 6s. 8d., John Bour 5s., John Lange 9s. 2d., John Kyfthille 8s. 2d., and Thomas Estwode 8s. 2d.
