Hugh Pike, esquire , was lately seised in his demesne as of fee of his manor of Horsey and granted it – described as all that manor with lands, meadows, pasture, rents, services and rights of reversion which he and Thomas Keke, parson of the church of Bawdrip , then deceased, lately had by gift and enfeoffment of Eleanor widow of John Fitzpayn, knight – to John Horsy, chevalier , for life, successive remainders to Joan widow of William Horsy for life, who survives and is now wife of John Trethek , and the right heirs of John Horsy , as is clear more fully in the indented charter dated at Horsey, 28 September 1420, and shown to the jurors. John Horsy, knight , was thus seised as of free tenement for life and died seised of this estate.He died on 3 September last. Henry Horsy is his son and next heir, aged 24 years and more.
