Refers to an inquisition taken before Robert, lord de Ponynges, William Cheyne, John Martyn and Richard Wakeherst, by virtue of a conmmission to them and to Nicholas Carren, Thomas Haseley and John Corf (neither the inquisition nor the commission can be found - not CIPM XIX, no. 15). Inquire as to the service by which he held the manors of Westhampnett and `Potte' in his demesne as of fee.

Both manors are held of Thomas Ponyngges, Lord St. John , Westhampnett for 1/2 knight's fee, 13s. 4d. on the feast of St. Thomas the apostle and suit of court every three weeks at the manor of Halnaker, and `la Potte' for 1d. yearly on the same feast and suit every three weeks at Halnaker.
