Alice, daughter and heir of John Foxle who held in chief of Henry V, died a minor in the king's ward.

Because of the minority of Alice 2 tenements in the Pallant, a tenement, 2 cottages and a dovecot in Chapel Street in Chichester, and 12 a. arable in Portfield next the city came into the king's hand on the death of John Foxle and remain there. The 2 tenements in the Pallant are held of the archbishop of Canterbury in socage, annual value 20s.; the tenement, 2 cottages and dovecot in Chapel Street of Lord Mautravers in burgage of the city of Chichester, annual value 20s.; and the 12 a. in Portfield of Beatrice, countess of Arundel , of her manor of Shapwick, service unknown, annual value 3s. 4d.

She died without an heir issued of her body on 6 Dec. 1420. John Fowle , aged 50 years and more, is her kinsman and next heir, i.e. son of Thomas Fowle of East Preston, brother of Godfrey Fowle of Heene, father of John Fowle of Chichester, father of Isabel mother of Alice.
