Holdings

She held no lands of the king in chief of the Crown either in demesne or by service. William Carmynowe , deceased, was formerly seised of 1/3 manor of North Tamerton in his demesne as of fee of the present king, formerly prince of Wales and duke of Cornwall, of his castle of Launceston of the duchy of Cornwall. After William's death the 1/3 descended to his son and heir John Carmynowe, esquire , who assigned 1/3 of the 1/3, amongst other lands, as dower to William's widow Margaret, reversion to John and his heirs. John died seised in his demesne as of fee of 2/3 of 1/3 and the reversion of 1/3 of 1/3 of the manor which descended to his son and heir John. Margaret died seised of 1/3 of 1/3, held of the king of his castle of Launceston, annual value 15s., and it also descended to John son and heir of John Carmynowe, esquire . She died seised on 16 Oct. 1419 and the 1/3 of 1/3 descended to John son and heir of John Carmynowe, esquire .

Thomas Carmynowe is her son and next heir, aged 25 years and more.

John Arundell of Trerice, knight , has occupied the 1/3 from Margaret's death and taken the profits by letters patent [17 Dec. 1417: CPR 1416-22, p. 130] granting to him the wardship of John son and heir of John Carmynowe, esquire .
