Holdings

Thomas Morton , John Proude and John Frensshe held the manor of Kitchenour in their demesne as of fee and granted it by charter to Nicholas and Elizabeth to hold to them and the heirs of their bodies. Nicholas died and she continued to hold in fee tail of another than the king.

Kitchenour. Of the manor, 500 a., 200 a. marsh, 100 a. wood and £8 6d. rent are held of John Pelham, knight, lord of the rape of Hastings , formerly of the duke of Brittany of the honor of Richmond, by knight service and 3s. 4d. yearly for the ward of Hastings castle, and a blanch farm of 2s. at Michaelmas; 200 a. and 100 a. wood are held of the lord of the manor of Peasmarsh by 3s. rent and suit of court at Peasmarsh every three weeks; and the remainder, 200 a. and 150 a. wood of Hamo Belknaper of his manor of Knelle by 3s. 8d. rent; annual value of the manor 20 marks.

She died on 23 May last. Thomas Keryell, knight , son of William, knight , son of Nicholas and Elizabeth, is next heir, aged 24 years and more.

Holdings

Thomas Morton, clerk , John Proude of Somerfield and John Frenssh of Marwood held the manor of Stockbury in their demesne as of fee and granted it by royal licence [10 Dec. 1377: CPR 1377-81, p. 109] to Nicholas Kiryell, knight , deceased, his wife Elizabeth, and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to his right heirs. She died holding it and it should now descend to Thomas Kiryell, knight , the son of William, son of Nicholas and Elizabeth.

Stockbury. The manor except 150 a. is held of the king in chief by knight service and a rent of 14s. for the ward of Rochester castle, payable on 29 Nov., annual value 100s. Of the 150 a., 100 a. are held of Humphrey, duke of Gloucester , of his manor of Milton by fealty, suit of court twice and 5s. blanch rent, annual value 4d. an acre, and the 50 a. of Arnold Savage, knight , of his manor of Bobbing by 5s. rent, annual value 4d. an acre.
Morton, Proude and Frenssh also held in their demesne as of fee lands and tenements in Great Mongeham, Northbourne, Sholden and Deal called `Kiryellescourt', of the lordship of Great Mongeham, and granted them to Nicholas son of John Kyryell, knight , and Elizabeth wife of Nicholas. They descended to Thomas Kiryell, knight , as above.
Kiryellescourt. The lands and tenements are held of the prior of Christ Church, Canterbury, in gavelkind of the manor of Adisham , service unknown, annual value £8.

She died on 25 May last. Thomas Kiryell, knight , is her heir, aged 24 years and more.
