He died on 28 Oct. last. Agnes his wife is pregnant, but at present Alice Virle and Joan wife of John Silverton , daughters of Christina, sister of William, father of John, are his heirs, aged 50 years and more and 40 years and more.

Holdings

On 16 May 1404, long before his death, he granted by charter to William Cheigne , Nicholas Wulberwe of London, fishmonger, John Gaynesford , Stephen, parson of Walton on the Hill, and their heirs, all his manors, lands, tenements, rents, reversions and services in Kingston upon Thames, Nutfield, Burstow, Horne, Lingfield, Crowhurst, Tandridge and Limpsfield and the manor of Coombe.

Coombe is held of the king of the manor of Sheen in socage by a rent of 40s. payable by equal parts at Easter and Michaelmas . There are 40 a. arable at 3d., 350 a. pasture at 1d., 50 a. wood at 1/2d., 6 a. meadow at 12d. and 30s. assize rent payable by equal parts at the 4 terms.

Nutfield, Burstow and Horne, 200 a. arable at 2d., 100 a. pasture at 1/2d., 8 a. meadow at 12d., 10s. assize rent payable as above, held of Nicholas Carrewe , service unknown.

Lingfield, 40 a. arable at 2d., 2 a. meadow at 14d. and 10s. rent payable by equal parts at the 4 terms of the abbot of Battle of his manor of Limpsfield by 10s. rent and suit of court.

Also in Lingfield 260 a. arable at 2d., 100 a. pasture at 1/2d., 38 a. meadow at 14d., 50s. rent at the four terms, held of Reynold Cobham, knight , of his manor of Scarborough, in Burham, Kent , by a rent of 25s.8d.

Also of the king in socage by a rent of 10s. payable by the sheriff at Michaelmas and suit of court at the hundred of Tandridge, 1 messuage, annual value nil, 12 a. arable at 1d. and 10s.2d. rent payable at the 4 terms.

Limpsfield, 60 a. at 3d., of Thomas Bowkehurst by a rent of 7s.2d.

Crowhurst, 60 a. arable at 2d., 10 a. meadow at 16d. and 30s. assize rents payable by equal parts at the 4 terms, of Reynold Cobham of his manor of Oxted by a rent of 20s.; also 6 a. at 2d. of Simon Dane by a rent of 8d.; also 94 a. arable at 2d. and 20 a. wood at 1/2d., of John Burgh, lord of Addington , by a rent of 1d.

On 25 May 1415, long before his death, he granted by charter to Stephen, parson of Walton on the Hill , and John Gaynesford all his lands etc. in Horne, Godstone and Burstow. There are 160 a. arable at 2d., 50 a. pasture at 1d., 20 a. wood at 1/2d., 7 a. meadow at 14d. and 30s. rent payable by equal parts at the 4 terms, held of the earl of Stafford , service unknown; and 24 a. arable at 2d., held of William atte Chaumbre , service unknown; and also the reversion of 184 a. arable, 50 a. pasture 20 a. wood and 7 a. meadow in Horne, Bletchingley and Godstone, which Alice widow of Richard Virle holds for life.

He died on 28 Oct. last. Agnes is pregnant, heirs as above.
