Margaret, one of the sisters and heirs of William, son and heir of Henry de Heton, knight , was 16 on 13 Jan. last , having been born in the castle of Chillingham and baptised in the church there. The jurors gave the following reasons for knowing this.
John Whytfeld , aged 62, was in the church and saw John Bolton, canon of Alnwick , acting as godfather.
John Corbet , 47, that day met Margaret Fox and Margaret Scryfwyn , the godmothers, at the church.
John Horsley , 60, was captured by the Scots on that day.
Wayland Maudit, 62, was sent on that day by Henry father of Margaret to buy wine at Newcastle.
Nicholas Heron , 69, that day married Katherine daughter of John Gylson of Chatton in Chillingham church.
Thomas de Throkelowe , 49, made offerings for Alice his wife in that church.
Robert Horner , 50, was that day captured by Thomas Grey of Hetton and taken to Norham castle against his will.
