Holdings

Agnes wife of Hugh Wesenham granted 1 messuage and half a virgate to Thomas de Kirkeby to hold for life of the manor of Conington by the rent of a rose, annual value 10s. The manor is held of the king in chief of the honour of Huntingdon .

Thomas died on 14 June 1407.

Since his death John Wynter has occupied the messuage and half virgate in accordance with letters patent during the minority of [Thomas] Wesenham, son and heir of Hugh [Cf. CCR 1409–13 , p.11].

Holdings

Agnes, sometime lady of the manor of Conington, held 1 messuage and half a virgate there, parcel of the manor, and granted them to Thomas de Kirkeby for life to hold by rent of a rose at Midsummer, with reversion to herself and her heirs. Agnes died and Robert her son entered the manor. After his death the right to it descended to Thomas his son, a minor in the king’s ward. The manor is held of the king of the honour of Huntingdon by homage and fealty.

Thomas de Kirkeby died on 14 June 1407 and John Wynter , who had the keeping of the manor, has held the messuage and half virgate since his death.
