Assigned, from the lands and tenements taken into the king’s hand after Roger’s death: a close called ‘new close’ (novum clausum), 3 a. land, 6 a. heath, and 6s. 8d. annual rent from the following tenants, viz. 18d. from Thomas Bretenham , 6s. from John Grond , 16d. from John Palgrave , 2s. 2d. from Simon Bretenham , and 14d. from William Swan .
