He held the following in demesne as of fee.
Layer de la Haye, the manor, annual value £15, held of the king in chief, of the honour of Boulogne, as ½ knight’s fee.

He died on 10 November 1440. John Tey is his son and next heir, aged 14 and more.

The abbot of St John’s, Colchester , and John Breton of Layer Breton, ‘gentilman’, received the issues of the manor from the said 10 November to the day of this inquisition.
