Holdings

Roger Stoke was lately seised of the following in demesne as of fee, which he granted to Robert de Champagne and Margaret his wife, and the heirs of their bodies, so that they were seised in demesne as of fee and right by form of the grant. They had issue: Margaret, and died. After their deaths the manor, etc., descended to Margaret as daughter and heir. She entered and was seised in demesne as of fee and right. She married Geoffrey Bugg of ?West Leake (Leyk), and they had issue: Edmund, and died. After their deaths, the manor, etc., descended to Edmund, who entered and was seised in demesne as of fee and right. He died, and after his death the manor, etc., descended to Baldwin, as son and heir of Edmund, who entered and was seised in demesne as of fee and right. He died seised without heir of his body. After his death the manor, etc., descended to Margaret, late wife of Reynold, named in the writ, as sister and heir of Baldwin. She entered and was seised in demesne as of fee and right by form of the grant, and Reynold and Margaret held the manor, etc., in right of Margaret. She survives, and is still seised.

Thurlaston, the manor, annual value 6 marks; and
Wigston Magna, 12 messuages, and 7 virgates of land, annual value £10, and £7 5s. 8d. rent,
held of the king , of the honour of Leicester, parcel of the duchy of Lancaster, by knight service. Robert Moton, knight , was lately seised of the following in demesne as of fee, which he granted to Reynold and Margaret his wife, and the heirs of their bodies between them, so that they were seised in demesne as of fee and right by form of the grant. In the charter, shown to the jurors, the ½ manor was described as Robert’s manor of Stoney Stanton with all appurtenant lands, tenements, rents, reversions, and services. Reynold died seised of such estate. Margaret survives and is seised by right of survivorship.
Stoney Stanton, ½ manor, and the advowson of the church, annual value 4 marks, held of Thomas de Ferrers, esquire , service unknown; and
6 virgates of land, annual value 30s., held of the prior of Coventry , service unknown.
Countesthorp, a messuage, 2 virgates of land, and 12s. 7d. rent, annual value 30s., held of the king , of the honour of Leicester, service unknown.
Sutton in the Elms, 2 messuages and 3 virgates of land, annual value 30s., held of Joan de Asteley , service unknown.

He died on 31 March last. Anne, aged 9, and Elizabeth, aged 7 and more, are his daughters and next heirs.
