She was seised of the following in demesne as of fee.
Leighfield, the manor, annual value 40s. [tenure and service not specified].
Rutland, the keeping of the forest, with ‘wyndfallyn wode’, ‘derefallyn wode’, cablishes, ‘wodsylver’, ‘heggyngsylver’, attachments of foresters, estreats and profits of swanimotes, chiminage, and appointing and removing all the foresters at will. The forest is held of the king in chief [service not specified], and is worth 17 marks yearly.
Braunston-in-Rutland, the manor, annual value 12 marks, held of Humphrey, duke of Buckingham , of his castle of Oakham, by knight service.

She died on 7 March 1445. John, son of John Chesilden , son of Anne, is her kin and next heir, aged 20 and more.

Lower Benefield, a capital messuage, worth nothing yearly; a croft, worth 6s. 8d. yearly; 100 a. land, each acre worth 2d. yearly; 8 a. meadow, each acre worth 12d. yearly; and 40 a. pasture, each acre worth 1d. yearly; held of John Zowche, esquire , and Elizabeth his wife, service unknown.
East Carlton, a messuage, worth nothing yearly; 3 a. land, each acre worth 2d. yearly; 2 a. meadow, each acre worth 20d. yearly; and 12 a. pasture, each acre worth 1d. yearly, held of the king , of the duchy of Cornwall, service unknown.
She was seised of 2s. rent issuing from various tenements in East Carlton [service and tenure not specified].
She was seised of the following in demesne as of free tenement, by grant of Simon Ward , once of Harpole, esquire, to his son Theobald, and Anne his wife – named in the writ – and the heirs and assigns of Theobald. Theobald died on 20 May 1414, and Anne then survived.
Harpole, a parcel of wood called ‘Horpoll Groue’, annual value 26s. 8d., held of Thomas Chambur, esquire , service unknown.

Date of death and heir as 287, heir here aged 20 on 22 July 1444. Margery, n139 now the wife of John Dansey , is the daughter and next heir of Theobald, aged 40 and more.

Allexton, the manor, called ‘Hakelettis maner’, held of the prior of St John of Jerusalem in England, service unknown. In the manor there is a site, worth nothing yearly; 100 a. land, each acre worth 4d. yearly; 20 a. meadow, each acre worth 18d. yearly; 40 a. pasture, each acre worth 2d. yearly; 2 crofts, each worth 2s. yearly; and a water-mill, worth nothing yearly.
She held the following in dower, after the death of Theobald Warde , her late husband, from the inheritance of Margery, wife of John Dansey , daughter and heir of Theobald.
Carlton Curlieu, 7 virgates of land, each worth 3s. 4d. yearly; and 4 crofts, each worth 2s. yearly, held of the king in chief, of the duchy of Lancaster, of the honour of Leicester, service unknown.
Long before her death she, Richard Baker, chaplain , and Robert Luffenham granted the following by indenture to Robert Chesilden – son of Anne and Robert Chesilden, esquire, her late husband – and the heirs male of his body. The indenture, shown to the jurors, was dated at Burrough on the Hill, ?23 March 1444. n141 Robert was seised by virtue of the grant.
Burrough on the Hill, 2 messuages, 3 cottages, a croft, 5½ virgates of land, 6 a. land and meadow [value, tenure, and service not specified], and 2s. free rent; and
Somerby, 18s. free rent; and the reversion of
4 messuages, a cottage, 4 virgates of land and meadow, and a croft [value, tenure, and service not specified], which John Dansey and Margery his wife hold for the term of Margery’s life

John and Margery attorned themselves to Robert in Anne’s lifetime. Long before her death, she and the above Richard Baker and Robert Luffenham granted the following among other things by indenture to John Chesilden, junior , son of Anne and Robert her late husband, and the heirs male of his body. The indenture, shown to the jurors, was dated at Thorpe Satchville, ?23 March 1444. n142 John was seised by virtue of the grant.
Thorpe Satchville, a messuage, 9 virgates of land, and a croft which the above John and Margery hold for the term of Margery’s life, and a parcel of meadow in the meadow of ‘Halyok’ [value, tenure, and service not specified].
John and Margery attorned themselves to John Chesilden, junior , in Anne’s lifetime.

Date of death and heir as 287, heir here aged 20 and more on 30 September last. Margery is aged 40 and more.
