But long before his death, one Thomas Bataill, esquire , was seised in demesne as of fee of 3 messuages, 600 a. land, 20 a. meadow, 200 a. pasture, and 40 a. wood in Manuden, Berden, Farnham, and Rickling. By a deed shown to the jurors, he granted to William Fyndern , for the term of his life,
an annual rent of 8 marks at Easter and Michaelmas from these tenements,
with power of distraint.

He died on 24 March last. Heir as 268, here aged 26 and more.
