He held in demesne as of fee and by right
2s. assize rent from various free tenants in Calverton, of which estate he died seised. The rent should be taken at Easter and Michaelmas equally. He held no more lands, tenements, rents, or services other than those contained in the inquisition taken after his death except this rent that, along with the virgate of land in Calverton recorded in the inquisition taken after his death, is held in socage of John de Veer, earl of Oxford , by fealty and service of rendering 5d. yearly at Easter and Michaelmas for all services.
On the day of Thomas’ death, William Caldecote was his son and next heir, but William died on 5 September last, a minor in the king’s wardship without heir of his body. Margaret, wife of Thomas Hanchech , is kin and next heir of William, as daughter of Philip son of Margaret sister of Alice mother of Thomas father of William. Margaret is aged 25 and more.

John Barton took the issues of the rent and other lands and tenements, specified in the inquisition taken after Thomas’ death, from the time of Thomas’ death until 5 September last by virtue of royal letters patent [CFR 1422–30, pp. 155–6], shown to the jurors, regarding the custody of all lands and tenements that were of Thomas Caldecote, committed to John during the minority of William. Owing to the death of William and the majority of Margaret, wife of Thomas, the letters expired on 5 September last, and the rent and other lands and tenements came to the king’s hand and are still there.
