Ellis is the son and heir of Walter Doreward son of Ellis Doreward , husband of Anne daughter of John son of Benedict Bokefeld , kin and heir of Thomas Martell, esquire .

Holdings

Owing to the death of Thomas Martell the following came to the king’s hand, and is still there because of the minority of Ellis Doreward son of Walter, kin and heir of Thomas as the son of Walter son of Anne sister of Thomas Martell .

[1]+Rivenhall and Faulkbourne, a tenement called ‘Hohall’, true annual value 53s. 4d., held of the king as of the honour of Boulogne by service of being chamberlain to the count of Boulogne and rendering 2d. yearly to the king by the hand of the sheriff.+[1]

Ellis son of Walter died on 11 March 1426. William Doreward was son and next heir of Ellis, and was a minor in the king’s wardship, then aged 2 years and more. William died on 12 April last. Elizabeth, wife of David Mortymer , daughter of Ellis and sister of William, is next heir of William as well as Ellis his father. She is aged 22 years and more.
