Skelton, a close called ‘Portburn’, containing 14 a. land, annual value 2s., held of the king in chief by rendering 10s. yearly at Easter and Michaelmas for all services;
a wood called ‘Hordhirn’ and 200 a. pasture, annual value 2s. above common pasture of the king’s tenants of the forest of Galtres, held of the king in chief by knight service of 1/6 knight’s fee, and no rent to pay;
a field called ‘Halefeld’, containing 3 bovates, annual value 4s., held of the abbot of St Mary ’s, York , by rendering 5s. yearly for all services;
a capital messuage with 3 small buildings and 4 bovates, a close called ‘Stokeynge’ containing one bovate, a close called ‘Langintake’, containing one bovate, and a close called ‘Wydopyn’, containing one bovate, annual value 14s., held of Joan, countess of Westmorland , as of her manor of Raskelf, service unknown.

He died on 10 March 1429. Margaret Duffeld and Elizabeth Duffeld were his daughters and next heirs. Elizabeth was aged only 2 days on the day of his death, and she died a minor on 21 March 1429. A moiety of the above lands and tenements came to the king’s hand by her death; and, owing to her death and that of Thomas, and the minor age of Margaret, is yet in the king’s hand. Margaret is next heir of Thomas and Elizabeth her sister, and aged 15 1/2 years and more.
