Holdings
He held the following in demesne as of fee tail by a fine levied at Westminster on the morrow of St John the Baptist 1366 [CP 25/1/67/221, no. 1474], between Peter de Boxstede , father of Peter, and Isabel his wife, querents, and Richard de Twynstede, chaplain , and Thomas Fonnel of Langham, deforciants . Richard and Thomas granted the manor to Peter and Isabel, and the heirs male of their bodies together. Royal licence was obtained. The licence and the fine were shown to the jurors.
Boxted, the manor, held of the king in chief by knight service. There is a hall with 2 chambers, 2 granges, and a stable, worth nothing yearly as ruinous; 160 a. arable, each acre worth 2d. yearly; 44 a. pasture, each acre worth 6d. yearly; 24 a. meadow, each acre worth 16d. yearly; 80 a. coppice-wood, of which 8 acres can be cut seasonably each year after this year, each acre worth 3s. 4d. yearly when cut; and 10 marks assize rent, taken yearly from various tenants at Easter and Michaelmas equally.
Alphamstone, Lamarsh, Pebmarsh, and Twinstead, a messuage and a watermill, worth nothing yearly, and 120 a. land, each acre worth 4d. yearly. The are not held of the king , but of whom is unknown.

Peter [son of Peter and Isabel] died on 23 April 1415. Richard de Boxstede , his kin and next heir as son of Thomas his son, is aged 21 years and more.

Thomas son of Peter de Boxstede , as son of Peter son and heir male of Peter and Isabel, entered and occupied the manor, messuage, mill, and land by virtue of the fine, and took the issues from Peter’s death until 10 March 1426 when he died seised of this estate. Henry Aleyn and Margaret his wife, lately wife of Thomas de Boxstede , occupied the manor from 10 March until the day of the inquisition, and took the issues, right and title unknown. John Clare of Colchester and Margaret his wife occupied the messuage, mill, and land from 10 March until the day of the inquisition, and took the issues, right and title unknown.
