He was not seised of any lands or tenements in demesne as of fee. But long before his death, by a charter, shown to the jurors, dated on 14 April 1436, he gave Thomas de Haryngton, esquire , John de Curwen , and Edmund Whitacre, chaplain , all of his lands and tenements in Barbon, Casterton and elsewhere in Westmorland, to them and their heirs and assigns, to hold of the chief lords of the fees by due services. By virtue of this grant, Thomas Haryngton , John Curwen and Edmund were seised of the tenements in demesne as of fee, and they remain thus seised.
