Holdings
He held the following in his demesne as of fee.
Risley, the manor, held of ‪ Henry V in chief as 1/10 knight’s fee. There is a curtilage and a capital messuage, worth nothing yearly; a croft adjacent to the capital messuage, containing 2 a., worth 16d. yearly; 29 a. arable, worth 19s. 4d. yearly; 8 a. meadow, worth 16s. yearly; a wood called ‘Topnoy’, its pannage and agistment worth 20s. yearly; and 20s. assize rent, payable at Midsummer and Christmas equally.
Hugh Wylughby, clerk , was seised of the following lands in his demesne as of fee. He granted them by charter to Hugh Wylughby , named in the writ, and to the heirs of his body. He was thus seised in his demesne as of fee tail, and died seised of this estate. The charter was shown to the jurors.
Brackenfield, 40 a. arable, worth 26s. 8d. yearly; 6 a. meadow, worth 12s. yearly; and 60 a. pasture, worth 28s. yearly, held of Ralph, Lord Cromwell , and Margaret his wife in her right, service unknown.
He afterwards married Joan Dabrigcourt , and they had issue: John and Hugh.

He died on 10 September 1415. John his son was then his next heir, and aged 6 years and more, but John, an unmarried minor, died seised of the manor, lands, and tenements without heir of his body on 3 September 1422. Hugh, brother and heir of John, is son and now heir of Hugh, named in the writ, and aged 21 years and more.

‪ Henry V occupied the manor, wood, lands, and tenements, and took the issues, from the time of Hugh’s death until 12 January 1416 when, by letters patent [recited in the inquisition: CPR 1413–16, pp. 388–9], he granted custody of the manor, etc., to Thomas Staunton, esquire . The letters were shown to the jurors. Thomas occupied the manor, etc., and took the issues, from that 12 January until 1 May 1423 when, by his charter, he granted his estate to Bartholomew Brokesby . Bartholomew occupied the manor, etc., and took the issues, until 8 August 1432 when, by his charter, he granted his estate to Gervase Clyfton, knight. Gervase occupied them and took the issues until the day of this inquisition.
