John is the kinsman and one of the heirs of Thomas. Thomas Bonevyle, esquire , to whom custody was committed, to be informed [CFR 1422–30, p. 287].

The jurors, separately examined, say that John was born at Basing on 4 April 1413 and baptised in the parish church of that vill the same day. He was aged 21 years on 4 April last. They know because of the following recollections of that day. Roger Kent , aged 60 years and more, saw John raised from the font. William Austyn , 59 years and more, held a burning wax candle in the church at John’s baptism. John Cook , 57 years and more, was in the church that day and was elected one of the churchwardens. William Chamberlayne , 56 years and more, carried water to the font in the church in which John was baptised. William Bygge , 55 years and more, says Alice his daughter married John Gay in the church. Thomas Neweman , 53 years and more, says John his brother was buried in the church and Thomas saw John Boneuyle . John Coudray , 50 years and more, says Isabel his daughter suddenly died in the church. John Hoo , 57 years and more, fell and broke his right shin at Basing and saw John carried to church for baptism. William Whitle , 55 years and more, says Agnes his wife was churched in the church after the birth of John their son. Thomas White , 58 years and more, was elected to the office of the king’s bailiffs in the county and saw John in the church. John Attehoke , 50 years and more, says there was such a strong wind that many buildings in the vill collapsed and he saw John Boneuyle in the church in the hands of Alice Come his nurse. William Browne , 60 years and more, purchased a tenement in that vill from John Gerard by a charter of that date, and he saw John Boneuyle in the churchyard.
