AGNES WHO WAS WIFE OF WILLIAM PAGHAM

Holdings
William Tanke , Robert Monketon and Thomas Welewe were seised in their demesne as of fee of the manor of Pury, a messuage, a carucate of land, 13 a. meadow, 40 a. pasture and 20 a. wood at East Bere forest. By their indented charter dated on 26 October 1418 and shown to the jurors, they granted these, described as all their lands, tenements, rents, services, meadow and pasture in Pury, Badley, Colvyle, Holtemede and East Bere forest, to William Pagham and Agnes his wife, both now deceased, for her life, remainder of this manor of Pury, Badley, Colvyle, Holtemede and East Bere forest to William Pagham and his heirs. William and Agnes were seised and she died seised of this estate.
Pury. In the manor there is the site, worth nothing yearly; a dovecot, worth 2s. yearly; 84 a. arable, each acre worth 3d. yearly; 13 a. meadow, each acre worth 20d. yearly; 40 a. pasture, each acre worth 4d. yearly; 20 a. wood, each acre worth 2d. yearly; and 20s. assize rent, by the hands of tenants at Lady Day, Midsummer, Michaelmas and Christmas equally. The manor is held of the king of his castle of Portchester by service of suit of court annually.
East Bere forest. The messuage and carucate of land are worth 26s. 8d. yearly. The messuage, carucate, meadow, pasture and wood at East Bere forest are held of the king by service of paying 7s. 4d. at Michaelmas by the hands of the constable of Portchester castle for all service.

She died on 12 January last. Philip Pagham her son is her next heir, aged 18 years and more.
