He held the following manors jointly with Grace his wife, who survives, for their lives by demise of Robert Warener of London and Roger Rye of Kent, remainder to John Martyn of Kent, one of the justices of the Court of Common Pleas, William Coggeshale, knight , Maurice Bruyn, knight , Lewis John, esquire , John Tyrell , Robert Darcy of Maldon, William Rookwode of Acton, John Burgoyne of Dry Drayton, Thomas Campes , Walter Gawtron of London, John Bederenden of London, Thomas Martell, esquire , Richard Wakkefeld, esquire , Robert Wrytele , John Simond of Toppesfield, Richard Fitznichol of Halstead, John Beche of Colchester, John Ewell, esquire , Roger Racheham, esquire , John Marlere and Henry Stampe, junior , their heirs and assigns [CClR 1419–22, p. 223].
Messing, the manor, held of the king of the honour of Rayne and not otherwise, by service of a knight’s fee. In the manor there is the site containing buildings, worth nothing yearly; a garden, worth 6d. yearly; 180 a. arable, each acre worth 3d. yearly; 32 a. pasture, each acre worth 6d. yearly; 12 a. meadow, each acre worth 18d. yearly; 80 a. wood, worth nothing yearly because recently lopped; 52s. assize rent from free tenants, at Easter, Midsummer, Michaelmas and Christmas equally; and perquisites of the court with view of frankpledge every year, worth 2s. yearly above the steward’s expenses.
Birch Hall (Brychehall) and le Castell, the manors, held of the heirs of John Gernon, chevalier , by service of a clove at Christmas for all service, annual value 10 marks.

He died on 7 January last. Richard Baynard is his son and next heir, aged 7 years on 21 April last.
