Addressed to former escheators in Middlesex. Separate writs to Alfred Cornburgh [escheator in 1454] and Thomas Towe, esquire [escheator 1458–9, 1465–6], former escheators, ordering return of partitions between Elizabeth and Margery, made by them in response to writs from the king and in their keeping. Partition made by Alfred Cornburgh concerned ‪1/3 of £40 annual rent to the Exchequer, at Michaelmas and Easter equally, granted by Edward III by letters patent dated on 1 August 1341 [CPR 1340–43, p. 283], to John Darcy le Fitz, ancestor of Elizabeth and Margery, and his heirs, and assigned by ‪ Henry IV in Chancery to Margaret, who was the wife of John. Partition made by Thomas Towe concerned 1/3 of 2/3 of the same rent granted as before but assigned by ‪ Henry V in Chancery to Eleanor, who was the wife of Philip Darcy, knight . Elizabeth and Margery are the kin and next heirs of John Darcy le Fitz and of full age, being daughters of Philip, son of John, son of Philip, son of this John.
