She held [in dower after the death of Constantine of the inheritance of] John Clyfton , son and heir of Constantine de Clyfton, the manor of Babingley and 2 parts of the manor of Grishaugh in Wymondham [by grant of Thomas Bardolf, knight, John Howard, knight , George Felbrygge, knight , James de Byllyngford , Richard Gegge and Roger Raubyn to Constantine and Margaret, described as Constantine de Clifton... by their charter dated on 27 August 1394, shown to the jurors, and with royal licence dated at Westminster on 25 March 1394 [CPR 1391–96, p. 389]. She held in dower and of the same inheritance as above, 1/3... [and] 1/3 of 1/4 manor of Lathes in Old Buckenham.
In the manor of Babingley is the site with buildings, worth nothing yearly; £4 12s. assize rent, at Christmas, Easter, Pentecost and Michaelmas equally; rent of 24 hens at Christmas, worth 2s. yearly; 48 summer works, worth 3s. yearly, each work 1d.; 121 autumn works, worth 8s. 4d., each worth 3d.; 140 a. arable, worth 40s. yearly; 4 a. meadow, worth 4s. yearly; 60 a. marsh for depasturing by sheep, worth 20s. yearly; a turbary, worth 2s. yearly; 60 a. wood which can be lopped every tenth year, each acre then worth 4s. 6d. – it was lopped within 4 years and thus is worth nothing until the end of 7 years from now; an alder grove, worth 2s. 6d. yearly; a court and leet, worth 10s. yearly; profit of rabbits taken in common, worth 2s. yearly; and 15s. assize rent, 40 a. land, each acre worth 4d. yearly, 1/3 wood, worth 3s. yearly, 1/3 pasture for ewes, worth 40d. yearly, and 1/3 pasture of hogs, worth 2s. yearly, which are called the third part of ‘Bernes’ and are part of the manor. The 1/2 of 1/4 tollbooth or toll of Bishop’s Lynn is worth 10s. yearly. The manor of Babingley, except 1/2 of 1/4 profits of the toll of the ‘tollebothe’ in Bishop’s Lynn, part of this manor, is held of the king in chief by 1/20 barony of Tattershall. The [1/2 of 1/4] profits of the toll is held of the king by fealty for all service.
In 2/3 manor of Grishaugh there is the site, its pasture worth 12d. yearly; 304 a. arable, each acre worth 4d. yearly; 39 a. meadow, each acre worth 12d. yearly; 80 a. pasture, each acre worth 4d. yearly; a small park, its agistment worth 10s. yearly above the maintenance of beasts and its keeping and enclosure; 55 a. underwood which can be felled every tenth year, each acre then worth 4s. – felled since last Michaelmas and thus not worth anything until the end of 10 years from now; 2 parts of 5 alder groves which can be felled every tenth year and then worth £10 – felled, and therefore valued, as the underwood; £22 assize rent, at Christmas, Easter, Midsummer and Michaelmas by the hands of tenants; 104 hens at Christmas, worth 10s. 4d. yearly; rent of 400 hen eggs at Easter, worth 16d. yearly; rent of 8 quarters oats at Easter, each worth 2s.; 1,040 winter and summer works, each worth 1/2d.; 200 autumn works, worth 50s.; 50 autumn boon-works, worth 8s. 4d. yearly; 100 ploughings of ploughteams, worth [more than] 20s. yearly [hole in ms]; 2 parts of the market every Tuesday and of its profits, worth...s. yearly; a court, worth 10s. yearly; and 2 parts of the leet and of its profits, worth 20s. yearly.

The 2/3 manor of Grishaugh and 1/4 manor of Lathes are held of the king by the office of butler at the king’s coronation. The hundred of... is held of the king by fee-farm of 6s.... his castle of Norwich at Michaelmas.

She died on 25 March last. John Clyfton, knight, is her son and next heir, aged ?38 [ms torn] years and more.
