Whitchurch Canonicorum or Winterborne Whitechurch (Whitchurche), 6s. rent service from various lands and tenements lately held severally of Edward by Robert Latymer, knight , Nicholas Latymer , and William Pope .
He granted the above to John Maylard, clerk , Robert Byngham , Robert Veel , and John Bonde , and to their heirs and assigns, to hold of the chief lords of those fees by due service in perpetuity, on condition that, having received full seisin and attornment of the free tenants and of other tenants of the manors, lands, and tenements, they re-enfeoff Edward and Isabel his wife, and the heirs of Edward in perpetuity, with the same manors, lands, tenements, rents, services, and reversions, or re-enfeoff Isabel and Edward’s heirs if Edward should die in the meantime. The grant was made by charter dated 9 October 1419 in which he was described as Edward Cerne, esquire, and the manors, lands etc. were described as his manors of Higher Melcombe, Westmyngton, and Sitterton, and all his lands and tenements, rents, services, and reversions in Higher Melcombe, Westmyngton, Sitterton, Rushton, West Hall in the parish of Folke, Buckhorn Weston, and Whitchurch Canonicorum or Winterborne Whitechurch (Whitchurche), with the rents and services of Robert Latymer, Nicholas Latymer, and William Pope and their heirs for lands and tenements held severally in fee of Edward in Whitchurch Canonicorum or Winterborne Whitechurch (Whitchurche). The charter was shown to the jurors. John, Robert Byngham, Robert Veel, and John were thereby seised in demesne as of fee according to the said conditions; and Robert Latymer, Nicholas, William, and all the other tenants attorned to them. Edward afterwards died, and John, Robert etc. thus granted the above to Isabel for life, to hold of the chief lords of those fees by due service, with remainder to Richard son and heir of Edward, and to his heirs, to hold as above in perpetuity. The re-enfeoffment was made by indented deed dated 31 December 1419, shown to the jurors. Isabel was seised in demesne as of free tenement and is still so seised. Robert Latymer, Nicholas, William, and all the other tenants have attorned to her.

Richard died without heir of his body on 27 January last. John Heryng , his kin and next heir as the son of Walter son of Alice daughter of John son of Roger son of Roger son of Reynold son of Anastese daughter of Geoffrey father of Philip father of Henry father of John father of John father of Edward father of Edward father of Richard, is aged 40 and more.
