Regarding lands and tenements that came to the hands of ‪ Richard II and are still in the king’s hands by reason of the idiocy of John.

The following came to the hands of ‪ Richard II and is still in the king’s hands owing to the idiocy of John son and heir of Thomas Bryt of Wimborne St Giles. Manningford Bohune,

a messuage, worth nothing yearly, 2 virgates containing 40 a. arable, each acre worth 2d. yearly, and pasture for 80 sheep, and 6 oxen and draught-animals, worth 20d. yearly, called ‘Shadewellysplace’, held of Katherine, queen of England , as of her manor of Manningford Bohune by 13s. 4d. yearly;
one messuage, worth nothing yearly, 20 a. land, each acre worth 2d. yearly, with pasture for 20 sheep, worth 12d. yearly, called ‘Margerywokeseyesplace’, held of the same queen as of the same manor, service unknown.
Woodborough, a toft, worth nothing yearly; 2 half-virgates containing 20 a. arable, each acre worth 2d. yearly; 4 a. meadow, each acre worth 6d. yearly because overgrown with rushes; and pasture for 18 sheep, 2 oxen or cows, and 2 draught-animals, worth 12d. yearly, held of the heirs of Aucher Frank, service unknown.

He died on 9 January last. Edmund is his brother and next heir, and aged 50 and more.

There is a hall, chamber, grange, byre, and stable, worth nothing yearly; 100 a. arable, each acre worth 4d. yearly; and pasture called ‘le Wayt’, worth 4s. yearly.
Monkton Up Wimborne, 8 a. land, described as a tenement and carucate of land in Potterne, each acre worth 4d. yearly, held of the abbot of Tewkesbury as of his manor of Wimborne St Giles by fealty and 6s. 8d. yearly.
