Long before his death he farmed them by deed to John Phelpus , still living, for life, to hold by rent of the said value, payable at Easter and Michaelmas by equal parts. There are also 4 a. timber wood, worth nothing yearly; and 16 a. underwood, worth nothing yearly because it was cut down, sold, and carted away last year.
Bentham, a toft, worth nothing yearly; and 40 a. arable, each acre worth 4d. yearly, payable at Easter and Michaelmas, held of the abbot of Fécamp as of the said manor of Cheltenham in socage.
He formerly held the following in demesne as of fee.
Westonbirt, a messuage, worth nothing yearly; 30 a. arable, each acre worth 4d. yearly; 5 a. meadow, each acre worth 16d. yearly; and a dovecot, worth 3s. 4d. yearly,, held of Thomas Beaumond, knight , as of his manor of Westonbirt, service unknown.
They were farmed by deed long before his death to John Tylere , still living, for life, to hold by rent payable at Easter and Michaelmas by equal parts. He was formerly seised of the following in demesne as of fee.
Kings Weston, a messuage and a carucate of land, granted by deed to John Hambrook for life, to hold by rendering one red rose yearly to John de Berkele , with reversion to the right heirs of John de Berkele ; and 100s. rent from tenants-at-will, payable at the four terms by equal parts. They are held of Maurice de Berkele, knight, lord of Stoke Gifford , as of his manor of Kings Weston by knight service
