Ordering the Treasurer and Exchequer barons to send the inquisition below, returned as is said to the Exchequer, to the Chancery.

Holdings

Robert de Bathe and Tiffany his wife were lately seised in their demesne as of fee of

4 messuages in Taunton, namely those now separately inhabited by John Walshe , Philip Gent , Walter Hullyng and Alice Lytell , annual value 26s. 8d.
On 10 December 1397 they granted these to Richard Marchaunt , John Baker , John Tanner , John Okham , Roger Touker , William Goky , William Payn , Thomas Osebern and John Mavyell , all of Taunton, and their heirs, to the use and profit of the fraternity of the Holy Cross in the church of St Mary Magdalene, Taunton, and the church itself, to provide a perpetual chaplain to celebrate divine service there for the friars, royal licence to alienate the messuages in mortmain to the church friars and chaplain not obtained. The feoffees were seised in their demesne as of fee to the use and profit of the fraternity of the church and chaplain, and the fraternity and the rector of the church and chaplain were seised of the issues of the messuages, and took the issues since the day of the gift until that of the inquisition.

[Dorse:] The named escheator delivered this inquisition by hand to John Juyn , Chief Baron of the Treasury, on 26 January 1427; regarding this court, it remains to charge the escheator with the issues of the messuages on the view of his account of his escheatory.
