Regarding lands held by Bertram Monbocher , father, of ‪Henry IV. Bertram the son died a minor in ‪Henry V‬ ’s wardship.

Holdings

Owing to the death of Bertram Monbocher , the father, and the minority of Bertram Monbocher , the son,

2/3 manor of Sutton on Trent called ‘South hall’ came into the hands of ‪Henry IV and ‪Henry V‬ and are still in those of ‪Henry VI. The 2/3, together with 1/3 which Elizabeth widow of Bertram the father, now wife of Thomas Holden , holds in dower, are held of Ralph earl of Westmorland of the honour of Richmond in socage, annual value 40s.

He died on 27 January 1415. Bertram Monbocher his son, who died a minor in the king’s wardship, was his next heir, aged 1 week and more at his father’s death. Isabel, lately wife of Robert Herbotell, esquire , is the kinswoman and next heir of Bertram son of Bertram son of Bertram, as in 586.

The 2/3, together with 1/3 which Elizabeth widow of Bertram the father, now wife of Thomas Holden , holds in dower, are held of the king in chief of the honour of Richmond in socage, annual value £10.

The 2/3 together with 1/3 which Elizabeth widow of Bertram the father, now wife of Thomas Holden , holds in dower [as in 587], are held of the king in chief by service of 1/6 knight’s fee, annual value 20s.
