He held the manor of Pipe for life by demise of John Stafford, bishop of Bath and Wells , Walter Bollok, clerk , Thomas Barton, clerk , Hugh Stanford , Richard Aylesbery , and John Brocton , reversion to themselves. The manor is held of William, bishop of Coventry and Lichfield , in right of the cathedral church of St Chad, Lichfield, by knight service, annual value 20 marks.

He died on 11 December 1425. Richard Stafford is his son and next heir, aged 5 years on 10 August last.

By their indented deed, shown to the jurors and dated at Kenilworth, 7 May 1418, they demised and confirmed the above to Thomas Stafford , described as Thomas Stafford of Baginton, esquire , for life to hold of them, their heirs and assigns, rendering and performing services owed and accustomed by right to the chief lords of that fee and a red rose at Midsummer if asked to the grantors, their heirs and assigns; reversion to the grantors, their heirs and assigns, as is clear fully in the deed. He died seised as of his free tenement, reversion as before. The manor etc. is held of John duke of Norfolk and his parceners, heirs of Thomas late earl of Arundel , by knight service, annual value £6 18s. 4d.
