Holdings
He held no lands or tenements of the king in chief in demesne or by service. He held of the countess [sic, recte duchess] of York a messuage, carucate and 9s. assize rents in Rotherwick for life in socage by grant of Maurice de Berkeley, knight , deceased, remainder to Maurice and his heirs. Maurice's son and heir Maurice is a minor in the king's wardship. Annual value of the lands 24s.
He died on 19 Aug. 1420. Thomas Wyke is his son and next heir, aged 26 years and more, and Maurice son of Maurice is aged 21 years and more.
By letters patent [28 Nov. 1401: CPR 1401-5, pp. 20-1] shown to the jurors, Henry IV granted the custody of Maurice's lands during the minority of his heir to Francis Court, knight . Francis made his wife Alice n921_001 his executrix and died. Alice married Lewis John, esquire , and they occupied the lands and took the profits at the time of Thomas's death.
