He held no land of the king or others in demesne or by service. His father John Holt, knight, by an indenture dated 16 Nov. 1402 demised for life to Joan wife of Master John Fraunces , keeper of the inn, a messuage in Southwark called the inn `del Aungell sur le Hoop' for £3 yearly at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions, and Hugh died seised of the reversion. The inn is held of the prior of St. Mary Overy, Southwark , by fealty, suit at his three-weekly court at Southwark and 16s. at the usual terms in equal portions.

He died on 1 May last. Richard Holt, clerk , is his brother and next heir, aged 37 years and more.
